Our Process: Energy Conservation
Energy conservation techniques are built into each TCH home not just added on at the end. We incorporate the following building components to make our homes energy efficient and reduce monthly utility costs for our homeowners:
- R-30 blown-in insulation at attics and R-13 batt insulation at exterior walls
- High performance air conditioning systems with SEER 13 rating
- Gas furnace with electronic ignition
- Gas water heater with electronic ignition & circulating pump
- Double pane (insulated) windows with low E glass
- Foam sealant around windows, exterior doors, bottom wall plate & penetrations in exterior walls
- Weather stripping at all exterior doors
- Ventilated attic space with radiant barrier roof decking
- Programmable (day/night) Thermostat
Homes constructed by Texas Classic Homes earn the ENERGY STAR by meeting rigorous energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Texas Classic Homes are significantly more energy efficient than standard homes through the incorporation of a variety of building features.
